League Playoffs - The Storm Take a Win and a Tie
The Storm began their Shamrock League Playoff Round Robin with home games against the Lucan Irish and Petrolia Oilers.   In the opener vs Lucan on Thursday the Storm dominated to take a 10-3 win.  On Sunday the Storm settled for a 2-2 tie with Petrolia.

Game 1 - Mooretown 10 Lucan 3

The Storm had not played Lucan this season but with the Irish finishing 1st in the North Division the Storm were prepared for a battle.  The teams started the game tentatively until Mooretown scored two late goals to come out of the 1st Period up 2-0.  In the 2nd the Storm came out flying and upped their lead to 7-0 by the time the period ended.  Lucan was able to get on the board early in the 3rd but the Storm answered back each time the Irish were able to get one by Kaymond Turner.  Scoring for the Storm were Greg Hay and Nolan Farr each with Hat Tricks, Logan Gardner with 2 and Thomas Snary and Tanner Adams with singles.

Game 2 - Mooretown 2 Petrolia 2

The Storm played host to the Oilers on Sunday and let a late lead slip away to split the 2 points.  The Storm led 1-0 after the 1st on a goal by Gardner with Cole Clements and Jeff Barclay assisting.  Barclay was AP'd for the game and was solid at both ends of the ice.  A powerplay marker by Hay, from Farr and Nic Ashley, sent the Storm up by 2 early in the 3rd but Petrolia got back into the game by  scoring a shorthanded goal with 10 minutes to go.  With the clock winding down the Oilers were able to score in the last minute to steal a tie.  The Storm now head on the road for the next 2 games, Wednesday in Lucan and then Sunday in Petrolia, where every point is important.  The Storm will need to show up ready to play if they want to move on to the next round.
