League Finals - The Storm Win Series Opener
The Storm started the Shamrock League Playoff Championship Series on the road in Mt.Brydges and battled from behind to come away with a 4-3 victory.  It was a huge win as the Storm are now at home for Games 2 & 3.

Game 1 - Mooretown 4 Mt.Brydges 3

The Storm and the Cougars met up twice during the regular season with the Storm coming out on top in both games.  Game 1 of the League Championship Series would get off to a slow start as the Storm failed to finish on some early chances and headed into the 2nd tied at 0.  The home team would get on the board first by capitalizing on the first penalty call of the game.  From that point on it was a steady stream of players to the box on both sides making it difficult for the teams to get any flow going to the game.  Mt.Brydges would go up by 2 two minutes later and it began to look like the Storm's early misses were going to come back to haunt them.  Hayden MacDonald, finally back in the line up, got the Storm's momentum going as he drilled home a long slap shot while shorthanded sending the teams into the 3rd separated by a goal.

The Storm started the 3rd with a two man advantage and capitalized quickly as Greg Hay converted a rebound off a MacDonald blast.  A minute later Nolan Farr would swoop in off the wing and beat the goalie over the shoulder to give the Storm their first lead of the game.  The Cougars continued to battle and pressed hard for the equalizer.  With a long shift in the Storm zone Mt.Brydges was rewarded as they managed to slide one in from just outside the crease with eight minutes to go.  The Storm didn't sit back and went on the attack knowing the game was there for the taking.  With just under six minutes to go Hay took a neutral zone feed from Drew Pepper and headed in 1 against 2.  He beat the defence to the outside and unleashed a hard wrist shot into the top corner to put the Storm out front once and for all.  It was Hay's 50th goal in his last 28 games to give him an even 100 for the season!  The game was far from over and with a little under three minutes left the Storm found themselves shorthanded again.  During that kill they took another penalty to go down two men in the last minute.  With the Cougars pressing and pulling their goalie the Storm defenders, backed by the solid goaltending of Kaymond Turner, held on until the final buzzer sounded to give them the series lead.
