The Storm were at home for Game 2 of the series and rode the shutout goaltending of Cody Hitchcock to a hard fought 3-0 win. The Storm are now in the driver's seat and look to close out the series and take the Championship Title at home next Saturday.

The Storm and Cougars came out in Game 2 playing a fast paced, physical game that made for some entertaining hockey. With both teams generating some good scoring chances the goaltenders stole the show keeping both teams off the board for the first two periods. While the Storm spent a lot of time in the Cougars' zone it was Mt.Brydges who had the edge in shots on goal up to that point. Cody Hitchcock was brilliant in the Storm net knowing his offence would begin to click at some point.
Heading into the final 15 minutes deadlocked at 0 the Storm struck early to get on the board. In the first minute of the 3rd Greg Hay buried the eventual winner after some great work by Nolan Farr and Nic Ashley. The Storm forwards were tenacious on the backcheck and the defence started to do an excellent job of shutting down the Cougars' attack. Cole Clements added to the lead putting in a rebound at the side of the net, from Hay and Farr, at the midpoint of the period. Mt.Brydges began the push to get back in the game but Hitchcock held steady to keep them off the board, making some huge stops on some shots from in tight. With four minutes to play Farr sped up ice and snapped home some extra insurance with Hay and Thomas Snary picking up the helpers. All that was left was to preserve the shutout and the team buckled down in their own end to close out a big win.
