Hockey Day in Mooretown
In what could be their last game of the season, the inaugural Tri-County Novice team would host the Petrolia Oilers at home in the MSC. Although they hoped to gain bragging rights over Petrolia, some late breaking news was that if the Storm won by three they would face off against Blenheim in the playoff final.

Boths teams showed the fans early that they were quite evenly matched as the first period went down without any scoring but instead a lot of chances by both sides and some good defensive groundwork by our core d-men. It was apparent that Mooretown would have to get by a hot P'town netminder as chance after chance was put aside by the Storm. The Oilers would get on the board first midway through the middle frame now placing the Storm in the position of catch-up as the final frame approached. Five minutes into the thrid, Ticknor would shelf one to tie it up for Mooretown with the helper going to Hardick. The fans were now on the edge of their seats with the game tied at one a piece and the Oilers coming on strong. The Storm would get their opportunity on the PP but would not be able to convert. The minutes were falling off the clock and it was becoming apparent that the novice's season was concluding but bragging rights were still on the line. With just a few minutes left in the game, Jacob Turner would send in a traditional blue line blaster that wouldn't beat the goalie but would find its way to Ticknor's stick so he could redirect into the back of Petrolia's net to make it a 2-1 game. The coaching staff would rally the team with an attempt to gain the three goal differential but it was all for not as the minutes fell off the clock to meet the buzzer.

Mooretown would conclude the year skating off the ice beating the Petrolia Oilers in the season finale and to cap off a successful year for the players and fans.
