Regular Season Closes
The Novice Reps slid into Wallaceburg closing out the regular season continuing with OMHA playdowns.

With a run of bad luck and lack of confidence as of late, the fans hoped for a win to give them a much needed morale boost as they move forward into playoffs.

The boys had a good record against the Jr Lakers going 2-1-0 including a win over them in the Mooretown Tournament final.

The Storm pounded early playing a dominant role in the Laker's zone. Hard work around the net paid off in the first period as Priddle gobbled up a rebound to backhand it into the net. The D played a prominent role throughout the game limiting the rushes and ensuring the puck stayed primarily in the opponent's end. Mooretown seemed to be a favourite for the refs today getting called on infractions all while the Lakers seemed to be ignored. Most of of us thought it was Hockey Day in Canada not Referee Day in Wallaceburg as they took jeers from the visiting crowd for they lack of vision. Nonetheless, the Storm's penalty kill would shine killing off every loss of a man including a 5 on 3. "Cracker Jack" Joseph was playing the game of his season thwarting off some very good highlight chances including one save that caused the Lakers coach to throw his water bottle down to the ground in disbelief. Morningstar deserves big kudos for his blocked shot during the PK that could have changed the momentum of the game had it gone in. Riley would fall in pain but return to the game helping the team on the back-end trying to preserve the shutout for Joseph. Wallaceburg continued to pressure but with the net empty, Casyn Foster skated in to pocket a well needed insurance goal. With the game almost in the books, Joseph made another save but took a spear by a Lakers player who needs a big lesson in sportsmanship. Regardless, shortly thereafter seconds fell off the clock and Mooretown took the win in preserving an all-star SO for Jack Joseph.

With St Marys in the sights tomorrow, fingers are crossed that momentum can be carried forward.
