Downed in Motown
With the regular season concluded and the team ousted from OMHA playdowns, the players made their way to Detroit to cap off their final tournament in the Motown Cup.

Short one player due to a stomach demon, the boys battled hard in Game 1 but lost in what turned out to be a result similar to a low scoring football game. The boys almost pulled it off with the goalie out but couldn't pull the trigger on the tying goal.

Another player went down on Saturday with the stomach bug causing worry among the team but the other player returned bringing the team to only one player down. The boys played their familiar opponent of the Petrolia Oilers who took the game handily from a Storm squad who had trouble finding wheels that they needed to compete. Mooretown improved their play in their next game but still could not find the determination to stay in the game. The effects of a busy weekend played havoc in the early Sunday morning match. Even now with a full roster, Essex controlled the game from start to finish with our boys doing their best to stay in it but unfortunately it appeared that fatigue was a major factor for Mooretown.

Overall, the boys seemed to have a great time enjoying the experience of their first overnight tournament for some. Even our new team jester "Ritchie" made some new friends at the Marriott. Word has it that they plan to stay in "touch".

The Novice Reps now sit in a holding pattern awaiting their Shamrock League playoff schedule.

Go Storm go!
