2013 Watford Regional Silver Stick PeeWee 'A' Finalists

    PeeWeeSS.jpg

The Storm came into the tournament as defending Champions and once again earned their way into the Finals only to come up on the short end of a 2-1 game against a very good Woodstock team.

Mooretown displayed some great hockey throughout the tournament and were stellar defensively against some very strong competition.

In the opener the Storm dominated the London Bandits in puck possession and shots on goal to come away with a 2-1 win with the Bandit goaltender making numerous spectacular saves.  In the 2nd game of the round robin the Storm again ran into a hot goaltender as they heavily outshot St.Marys.  While the score ended with a 5-2 loss two of the Rock's goals were into an empty net.  After being seeded 4th the Storm were up against the pesky Strathroy Rockets in the Quarters and prevailed with a well earned 3-1 victory.  In the Semis the Storm faced the #1 seeded St.Thomas Stars and put on one of their best performances to date limiting the Stars to very few chances en route to a dominating 3-0 win.

In the Final the Storm met up with Woodstock who had been levelling all comers in their route to the Championship Game.  Again the Storm played a strong game with Woodstock's two goals coming from in tight off rebounds as they were unable to get their high flying offence in gear.  The Storm went toe to toe with the Navy Vets, coming close to tying the score late on a flurry of chances but were unable to get that one lucky bounce to send the game into OT.

The entire team should be proud off their efforts and accomplishment in going the distance once again.
