With the regular season winding down, the team headed to Dorchester hoping to set a formidable tone for OMHA playdowns ahead.
The refs let the fans know early they wouldn’t let much go calling the Storm for penalties that would all be fortunately killed off including a 5 on 3 in the early part of the game. Dumoulin opened up the scoring first for Mooretown via a chip out pass by Coene just beating the goalie to make it a 1-0 game. The defence played diligently passing the puck up high to help the forwards breakout to keep the momentum of the offence at a high pace. Brant kept busy between the pipes keeping rebounds at an absolute minimum taking away any secondary chances on net. Plante-Hunter increased the lead sending one home after a mad scramble around the net and a thwarted chance by Lunn. Shortly thereafter, Forbes made it a 3-0 game courtesy of a nifty back pass by Dumoulin after just passing by the net. The Dragons pressured the Storm but our team had decided to show up tonight and through intelligent play showed the opponent what they will have to face in the weeks ahead. Brant would end up with a well deserved shutout after seeing more rubber than a worker at a tire factory and rest of the team should get accolades for using teamwork to be the deciding factor on how this game was won!
