St Clair Storm Atom Girls Win Windsor Wild Winter Tournament
The St Clair Storm Atom Girls team took part in their first tournament of the season the weekend of Jan 3rd, 4th & 5th at the Windsor Wild Winter Tournament. The Storm played well to earn their first tournament win and took home the championship banner!

The Storm got off to a good start winning their first two games 4-1 and 3-0 against the St Thomas Panthers and Southpoint Stars respectively and it appeared nothing could stop them.  The Storm had to face some adversity, however when they ran into a hot goaltender in their third game vs the Windsor Wildcats.  The team game that had provided success in earlier games began to break down and ended in a 2-0 loss.

With a 2-1 record, the Storm advanced to the semi-final to play the Southpoint Stars.  It was a tight game with both goaltenders being very stingy, but the Storm did not give up or get frustrated and continued to push on the earn a 2-1 victory to advance to the finals.

The finals saw the Storm meet up with the St Thomas Panthers, who had pulled off a dramatic last minute victory to advance to the final.  The final proved to be an exciting game to start as the teams matched goals during the first period with the Storm up 3-2 after one.  The second period saw no goals as both teams tightened up defensively with standout performances from the netminders.  The Storm began to control the play however and by the third period the Storm would not be denied as they found their game, came together  and netted 3 goals to finish with a very convincing 6-2 victory to win the tournament and take home the championship banner.

Congratulations Storm ladies!!!! Well done!!!!  GO STORM GO!!!!
