St Clair Storm Atom Girls Win Game 1 of League Final Series with Mitchell Meteors
The Storm came ready to play in Game 1 of the final series and came away with a solid 4-2 victory to go up 1-0 in the series.

After going 4-1-1 in the first round of the WOGHL league playoffs the St Clair Storm Atom girls not only advanced to the finals but secured home ice advantage as well.  Game 1 of the series took place in Mooretown to a loud and energetic home crowd. The now infamous "LET'S GO STORM" uttered by Uberfan Bob Quinn resonated several times throughout the Mooretown Arena during the game and seemed to lift the team and give them new life.

The 1st period saw the Storm weather some tough pressure and prime scoring chances by the Meteors, but Brooklyn Macleod stood firm and made some incredible saves to keep the score knotted 0-0.  In the 2nd period, the Storm came alive and started to generate chances.  McKenna Larsen opened the scoring on a nice feed from Emma Clark late in the period and Taylor Maclean followed that up with another a couple of minutes later.  The Meteors answered with a suspect goal on a goal mouth scramble, but with 10 seconds left in the period, Tarin Passingham took a pass from Brice Knight at the blue line and broke up the wing, powered to the net and drove home the 3rd goal for the Storm. A few seconds into the 3rd Lili Gagne potted the 4th goal for the Storm on a rebound from McKenna Larsen's shot.  The Storm had control of the game up until late in the 3rd when Mitchell began their push and started to apply more pressure. They were rewarded with a 2nd goal, but could not put any more by the St Clair tender and her stingy defensive corps. As the time ticked down, the Storm emerged victorious 4-2.

Hard work and skating and tough gritty play with opportune  scoring were the hallmarks of success of this game for the Storm, who now hold a 1-0 lead in the final series.  Game 2 takes place this coming Saturday March 22 at 3:45pm in Mitchell. Bring your best game ladies and come home champions!!!! LET'S GO STORM!!!!!!!
