First few losses suffered in Home Tourney!
Well, it was one heck of a learning curve for the Vipers this past weekend in the 1st Annual MMHA HL/TC Tournament.
The first game was a tough loss for the team 11-0 against Mt. Brydges.
The second game was more of the same [and then some] with the squad facing a 19-0 loss to a tough ALL-major novice Dorchester team. I think we learned getting to the puck first and grinding in the corners is paramount to our success against those speedy teams!
Second day...
We faced a familiar foe: Petrolia Blue. Although, we have been able to handily beat them in league play earlier this season, Petrolia proved that they came to play, winning 8-7. Even though we tied the game late in the 3rd, the Blues were able to squeak one more past Nathan Sylvester; who, by the way, deserves a huge kudos for keeping us in there as long as he did! And our six-man-unit in the end did a good job keeping the puck in the attacking zone! What can I say? Touch break guys!
All in all, we faced some stiff competition and I'm proud to see we could keep our heads high!
