The Black Flags flew when it mattered most as the won 3 straight games on Satuday to Win the C-Division Title at the Doug Perkes Memorial Peewee Local League Tournament in Seaforth

the Mooretown Jr. Flags Black found their stride with just 9 players on the bench after Losing Mitchell Brush to illness after Friday's action.  Mooretown lost it's games on Friday 11-1 to the Drayton defenders and lost 8-4 to the Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs.  But when the chips were down Mooretown played three hard games defeating the Paris Wolfpack 8-6 to finish third in their pool.  The Jr. Flags would meet the Ayr Flames in the Group C semi final and would pull out an 8-5 win.  Here it the write up from the tournament website about the C-Final

The last game of the day on Saturday saw the West Lorne Comets take on the Mooretown Jr. Flags in the "C" Championship Final.

The first period saw both teams come out wanting to get the win in this game but the period ended scoreless nonetheless.

The scoring did begin early in the second period with Mooretown getting a couple of goals. West Lorne cut the deficit in half late in the period to make the score 2-1 for Mooretown going into the third.

West Lorne came out strong early in the third and scored just as their power play was ending about three minutes in to tie the game 2-2. A couple minutes later, however, Mooretown scored two goals within a one minute span to pull ahead 4-2. This score would stand as the game ended with Mooretown defeating West Lorne 4-2 to take the "C" Championship.

It was a very well played, clean game that only saw two minor penalties called. Congratulations to both teams on their efforts and best of luck in the rest of their seasons.
