Jr.Flags vs Wallaceburg Lakers.2.
All "Fired Up" and working on all cylinders this morning in Mooretown..
Both Teams showed up to play , but Mooretown had a little extra gas in their tanks and right from the start of the first period, but the Lakers came on strong and this was shaping up to be a great game.
Between the pipes.. Nolan Beaudoin proved once again he has what it takes facing a barrage of shots..46 for the game total and you have to remember the stamina it takes to play a full 35 min +.. Great work Nolan as you were definitely "On Fire" today..For the constant dedication in the net and never giving up ..Nolan took home the Golden Jersey. Your Team Thanks You...Awesome job Buddy!!
The past 2 games I haven't been able to post the teams post game news.. Samuel Rodey wore the teams roaming "A" Jersey for the past 2 games last week as this winger is starting to gain his confidence and getting into those plays in our end..Jesse Knight was flying our teams roaming "A" Jersey today and lit it up on Defence holding back the Lakers as they advanced our end as much as we were in theirs . All Defence playing very well and defending the ice their hardest , and this is working out great as this team continues to gel and become not just a team .. but a team that is understanding hockey better than ever.. and thats what it all about !!
It was before the game in the dressing room when Devon Zink took the short end of a stick to the mouth in a innocent game of chase the tape ball around the dressing room..I cant stress enough the reason for placing your stick @ the door is so important when any players are in the room. Your kids safety is always #1 priority on and off the ice so I would like to ask that we all understand that ok....Having said that..That didn't stop Devon Zink.. Oh No..After a few minutes of care he was determined to get out there and play because there was no way his team was playing without him..Spitting Blood or not...Thats dedicated... 48 seconds into the third Devon landed a beauty rebounder from our Capt Reed Mathieson to place Jr.Flags up 1 goal..I guess Devon used his injury for fuel to drive this players confidence higher than ever.. With just under 4 minutes to go in the second..Derek Zinc lands a sweet unassisted goal deep into the net putting his team up 2...Derek also firing on all cylinders today and has really been consistently improving his hockey skills more and more every game.. "High 5 " Derek !!..3:42 Into the 3rd Our Capt Reed Mathieson sunk a rocket wrist'r into their net with a sweet pass from Jack Font and Nic Gerrits.. Awesome work boys putting us up 2 points.. Patrick Brown would bust out and fire a smoking slapper passed the Lakers tiring goaltender as both teams were getting really fired up..Speaking about spitting fire .. Again some questionable calls by MTMHA Officials and slow whistles at the net caused a unnecessary penalty and Lakers would come back to put 2 goals in late in the 3rd to heat things up and pull their goalie with 1 minute to go..Wow somebody get some water as both teams were in flames as they both struggled to gain control of that puck.. Great efforts form our boys to hold on and play keep away for the last 2 minutes..We did play very well..one of our best games this month,, Congratulations to our whole team and lets Keep Up The Team Spirit as we enter this Holliday season..
Nic Gerrits with 2 assists today and a few fantastic attempts at their net gained him the Roaming "A" for our next game on Thursday night @ 6:10 R.2. as we take on the South Kent Lightning. There is NO practice this week so far. See Everyone Thursday.
