Game 18 vs. West Lorne Black
Tonight’s game would be played in West Lorne where nobody
wore the 3rd A. Mooretown Red
would try to work as a team and focus on the win tonight.
West Lorne would open the scoring in this game with 12 seconds to go in the first. Mooretown managed to get 12 shots in the first period but were up against a hot goalie.
Halfway thru the second period Red would find the back of the net. Josh West would clear the zone with a pass to Ty Davis who would put the puck on Dylan Dupuis stick for our first goal. 5 minutes later and what seemed like a hundred shots later, we scored again. Dylan made a perfect pass from the offensive corner to Brady K who was in his spot and smashed in a perfect one timer to take the lead.
One minute later, Ty Davis would get his turn with assists by Jace Dupuis and Thomas Gerrits.
West Lorne would Pull to within a goal 1 minute into the third and then tie it up 45 seconds later.
Dylan would find the back of the net again with a take away in the neutral zone for an unassisted goal. West Lorne would again tie the game with 5 minutes to go. With 3:50 to go in the game, Jace Dupuis would strip a defender in the corner and take the puck to the net and score the final goal of the game giving Mooretown Red the win on the road.
After the game, the coaching staff talked to the players about the importance of team work and back checking every shift. The staff was impressed with the amount of shots that were taken on the West Lorne net and the team not giving up against a strong goalie.
