Not a player was skating, the holiday was nice.
The jerseys were all hung in their closets with care
In hopes that some goals would soon be their fare.
The boys were nestled all snug in their beds
And the staff were all focused on mending their heads.
With Aaron in his nightie and Ben in his gitch
MacLean was soothing Foster with his case of jock itch.
When up in the sky there arose such a clatter
Everyone came out of the warmth to see what was the matter.
They could hear noises up high like blades of a skate
But knew that it couldn’t be that of Gretzky the Great!
Then out of this world, too far yet to see
A blurry sight in the distance, it looked to good to be
But all of a sudden, a vision came into the view
A sleigh laden with gifts driven by Gretzky plus two.
Yes, Sidney and Alex O it would certainly be
Pulling the sleigh for the Great One, Wayne Gretzky!
More rapid than anyone with speed down they came
And they whistled, and shouted the Peewee AEs by name!
Now Carter! Now Xander! Now Jesse, Now Joel!
On Seth! On Dylan, On Lleyton! Let’s go!
Now Caleb, Now Zach, Now Jake and now Chase!
On Tyler, On Carter, let’s keep up the pace!
On Jack, On Ryerson, the goals stop with you!
On Casyn, on James! For you’re the last two!
It is time to practice and time to play smart!
Now skate away! Skate away! Skate away hard!!
Gretzky was dressed in his stylish ninety-nines
And Ovechkin was handling his stick mighty fine.
Crosby kept smiling as he could never forget
The Golden Goal of 2010 in the USA’s net!
The Peewee’s were buzzing in all of the glory
They would certainly have one heck of story.
Out skating with three of the NHL’s greats
An event that for sure they would never forget.
The boys seem starstrucked as they forgot how to think.
Frozen in awe but smiles for sure on the rink.
The Great One knew that the boys were trying their best
But needed that little extra to pass the big test.
So up to the rafters the three superstars flew
To their sleigh full of pucks with new composites too.
Gifts for all, they provided for free.
But be thankful for all said the NHL's three.
And then, with a whistle, they yelled how it was done
Keep your head up and go, never stop, always fun.
And just when you think that you have run out of gas
Never give up, keep going, and don’t fall on your a**!!
It is too bad the players were starting to wear
The excitement tonight was too much to bear
But Gretzky and Alex and Sid sternly said
Keep practicing hard and listen when led.
Their time was up as they knew it would be
The Peewee’s were tired and had to go back to sleep.
Wayne said let’s go, and Alex said to young Sid
You pull the sleigh, they all say you’re the kid.
Sid said take off, Alex you say you’re the best
Prove to me that you have so much of that zest.
Wayne got upset and said For Heavens Sakes
Would you both just stop it, let’s go, can’t be late.
And with a snap of his stick, the sleigh disappeared
Gretzky had done it again, the magic he reared.
In the distance you could hear the shouts from the stars
Keep your stick on the ice and you will go far!!!!
