Tri County Champions!!
After the final game with Orange we managed to clinch a place in championship round.  The final match would be between Mooretown Black and West Lorne.

The first game of the championship round took place on Thursday night.  With the return of the Captain from a concussion and after missing 3 games.  Bringing up our AP goalie Rylie Morningstar, who at the beginning of the game showed some nervousness but then turned it around and was a force to be reckoned with in the net.    The Assistant Sebastian took over and played his best game of the season.  Sebastian netted 4 goals and assisted another 4.  Not to be out done Dylan played a fantastic game as well and netted 3 himself including the game winner.  Also helping on that night was Noah who got his second of the season.  Final Score 8-7.

With the chance to clinch the Championship Friday night between the top 2 teams of the season.  It was set up to be a great game and show down.  A do or die for West Lorne and a chance to capitalize on a winning high for Black.

The Game remained scoreless until the 6 minute mark of the first period where Captain Brad broke through the defense and put a great move on the West Lorne Goalie to open up the scoring.  5 minutes later Sebastian scored the second goal.  The second period saw goals from Brandon, Dylan and another one from Sebastian.  Travis was a wall in net stopping every shot up to the final minute of the second period where West Lorne capitalized on a 5 second lapse in play by Black and scored a beautiful goal.   At the 12 minute mark of the third Dylan would score his second of the game making it 6-1.  But West Lorne was not done.  They came back in the final 5 minutes of the game to score 2 more and were looking to make a comeback and had the momentum going their way.   But thanks to some great defensive plays and outstanding goal tending the team managed to hold them off to win the Championship.

And in the spirit of the game, in the end Captain Brad and a player from West Lorne ended up having a moment together when #14 asked Brad while shaking hands why he cut his hair.  This brought over the rest of the West Lorne team to ask Brad the same question.  And the Coaching staff approaching him to let him know that they did just about everything they could to shut him down from scoring in a playful joking manner.  Ice broken.

Thanks to West Lorne for the great season they had and awesome final 2 games. I personally wish to thank the Boys and girls of the Mooretown tri-county black team.  All through the season they played with dignity and for the most part kept their composures against some overwhelming odds.  It was great to meet the rest of the coaching staff and make some new friends in the process.

Thanks to Every player and their parents.
