Atom AE - Peterborough Liftlock Tournament CHAMPS!
Congratulations to the Atom AE team who took home gold this past weekend in the Peterborough Liftlock tournament!

The team headed down on Thursday and drove through some of the worst weather we have ever seen, questioning our sanity the entire time... the things we do to play hockey!

We started the tournament off with a big WIN (8-2) on Friday in Game # 1 against Oro Thunder.

Bright & early Saturday morning we faced Quinte West Hawks, this was a good game! This is the game it all seemed to click for our boys, they were passing & playing hard & most important they were playing as a team!  They gave it all they had in game #2 and fell short 3-2. (We also may have found fans louder than Mooretown in Game #2).

After a quick re fuel we switched venues & it was time for Game # 3 against Lindsay Muskies. Another great game played on both ends, finished in a 1-1 tie.... then we waited.... for what seemed like forever!!! Would our 1-1-1 be enough to give us a shot at the semis? IT WAS!!!!! Boys were pumped!!!!

Saturday night brought the semi-finals against Merriton Bulldogs and a 2-1 WIN! They were going to the FINALS! They were also going straight to bed .... curfew called!

Sunday morning bright & early we made our way to The Peterborough Memorial Centre, home of the Peterborough Petes. Big arena for a big game! We were playing Quinte West, the team who beat us out in Game # 2 & our boys came out flying! This was their shot, their game, their tournament! Both teams played their hearts out & it was a great game to watch! Final score, 2-1 for Mooretown!

The team was led by head coach Spencer Dalgety & our great coaching staff Jeff Grant, Joe Rodrigues, Scott Robinson & our always wonderful manager Marilyn Maoirat.

A big thank you to Jason Burgess for live streaming the games & the biggest thank you to all of the fans back home who tuned in on Facebook Live, they felt your support!!! No one has fans like Mooretown!!!! GO FLAGS!

Now the real question ....... will Jace (and his mom) hold true to his word & let Spencer cut his hair on Thursday?

Congrats again boys!
