Letter from MTMHA Board of Directors
Important Information - Please Read!

MTMHA has recently learned of some major changes to the age divisions in minor hockey.  These changes are mandated by Hockey Canada and governed by the Ontario Minor Hockey Association.

As our centre is an OMHA Affiliate Centre and must comply with OMHA rules, regulations, policies and procedures, MTMHA will implement such changes for this upcoming season.

Age divisions for the 2017 / 2018 season will be as follows:

Instructional          4 years old by December 31, 2017
Initiation 5 & 6 years old by December 31, 2017
Tyke 7 years old by December 31, 2017
Novice 8 years old by December 31, 2017

* Novice may consist of blended 7 & 8 year olds, cannot have a team of all 7 year olds in Novice.

As an organization we do anticipate some growing pains and challenges. With any change comes challenges and many questions that we will do our very best to answer all to the best of our knowledge at this time.

We feel very confident in our coaching staff, dedicated volunteers, parents/guardians, players & our MTMHA families as a whole.

MTMHA Board of Directors is committed to providing a strong hockey program that focuses on long-term player development, fun and passion for the game.  We are confident that we can provide a program for our young players with this focus which will be successful for all.

We will continue to work closely with our Regional Director and local Representative at OMHA to gather information and ensure we are in compliance and will update the website with information as we receive it.

We want to thank you in advance for your patience as we roll out these changes in the upcoming 2017 / 2018 season. We are looking forward to a great year!
