Weekend Recap
It was a “Hard Workin Weekend” for the boys.
We ran into a brick wall in Blenheim against the South Kent Lightning on Saturday night. After dominating and controlling the 0-0 game in the South Kent end of the ice, the Mooretown boys finally broke open the scoring on a penalty shot. We did manage to squeeze two more past the stingy South Kent goalie and our own goalie turned away all the shots that he faced for a hard fought 3-0 shutout.
Sunday saw a Mooretown vs Mooretown matchup. It was obvious from the start that everyone involved in picking the teams this year did a great job of making them evenly matched. It was a back and forth game with lots of good chances at both ends. After trailing by a goal after two periods our boys took their intensity up a notch and scored three unanswered goals for a well deserved “W”.
