Atom Rep - Golden in Huntsville
The Mooretown Junior Flags, Atom Rep team went into Muskoka for the first tournament of the season. They returned champions with the gold medals and trophy to prove it. They dominated their division and finished undefeated with a shutout on Sunday afternoon’s championship game.

The Atom rep team began with a decisive victory vs. Highland on Friday. They blasted 4 goals to 0. Big time shutout, big time effort.

Saturday was an opportunity to enjoy a doubleheader of hockey. The morning began with the Flags clipping the wings of the Essa Eagles with a 1-0 victory. The team then beat the host team, Huntsville, 7-2. This setup a Sunday morning semi-final rematch with a familiar foe.

In the semi-finals, the Atom Rep team left no doubt that they wanted a place in the Sunday afternoon championship. Mooretown was able to bring their determination, skill, and effort to the game. They sent the Strathroy Rockets back down the 402 with a loss. The Flags winning the semi-final game 6-2.

Sunday was funday! Time for memories to be made. The Atom Rep team took on Simcoe. The Atom Rep team sniffed victory and never let up, winning 4-0. The medals - check. The trophy - check. The fall leaves in the cottage country were beautiful red, but the medals were golden.

The team feasted on their opposition like they were eating a breakfast of champions. Liam guarded the twine and made opposing teams into shredded wheat! Ewan and Klarke played 2 way hockey in the offensive and defensive zones like two scoops of raisons in raisin bran. Oden, Graeme, Daynen and Cole played solid D and didn’t give an inch to the other team’s frosted flakes. Cole, Drew, Ryan, Max, Chase and Tucker made plays to set each other up and light the lamp proving their victory were no lucky charms, but all skill!

The Flags were guided by their head coach, Ian Snedden, and the staff of Adam Teschke, Aaron Ticknor, Shawn Lajoie, and Ryan Scott kept coaching the boys down the straight and narrow path to victory.
