Congratulations to the Wallaceburg Jr. Lakers 1 on winning their divisions in shut out style!
It was final 4 day on Sunday as the Wallaceburg Jr. Lakers faced the Mooretown Jr. Flags and the London Bandits met the Port Stanley Sailors
It took a lot of calculating after the round robin as 3 teams ties with 5 points after a highly competitive cross over round robin which had 6 teams vying for those top 4 spots in their final game of the round robin.
Semi Finals
The Wallaceburg Lakers and Mooretown Jr. Flags are league foes who have yet to meet this season. The two were in the same Pool so this was the first chance to play each other. Wallaceburg would score in the first minute of the game and that would be all they needed as the scored a 2-0 win over Mooreotwn
The London Bandits and Port Stanley Sailors would meet for the second time in the tournament after a 3-3 tie in round robin play in an emotionally charged game on Saturday. It was a tight affair in the Semi final but the Sailors would eek out a 2-1 win to move to the finals.
Finals
Wallaceburg would face their 6th different team of the tournament as the took on the Port Stanley Jr. Sailors who were in the same pool. Once again the Jr. Lakers would score in the first minute of the game and hold on for their second straight shutout and 3rd of the tournament. Port Stanley would have some great chances late in the game but the Jr. Lakers won the championship banner with a 3-0 win including an empty net goal.
