Taggart Memorial AE Tournament
(AE 2/3/4 Tournament)


The TAGGART MEMORIAL AE TOURNAMENT is an OMHA sanctioned tournament (#9110) and
will be played under OMHA rules. Mouthguards are required in ALL divisions.

This is an AE 2/3/4 Tournament.
Body Checking ALLOWED in
Bantam division only.
NO OMHA -OR- ALLIANCE MINOR DEVELOPMENT TEAMS ALLOWED IN THE BANTAM DIVISION!


Tournament dates:
Fri, Oct 18th to Sun, Oct 20th 2019 


Note(s):
FOUR GAMES guaranteed over the weekend. Semi Finals may be played on Saturday in some
divisions. Finals and Consolation games will be played on Sunday, October 20th, 2019.

Registration Rules
- Deadline for Registration is September 30th, 2019.
- Registration must be completed online.
- All fees must be paid prior to registration deadline.  The Tournament Director has the right to
disqualify teams for non payment.
- Entry fee $950.00. 

Note(s):
- Teams unable/ineligible to play will receive 100% of their fees back 30 days before puck drop; 50% of their fees back 29 - 15 days before puck drop; and no fees back with 14 days or less until puck drop.  This is firm.



Game Time Rules
- All teams must be registered by their Team’s Official 1 HOUR prior to the start of their first
game with a copy of their team's Approved Roster (AR) & Travel Permit (TP).
- At least one legitimate member of the team staff (listed on the AR) is required to act as the
Team Official.  Enforced: One Team Official per team, not Head Coach!
- After the first game, it is the responsibility of the Head Coach to register his team and have all of his bench staff sign the game sheet 30 MINUTES prior to his team's game.

Note(s):
- No Email copies of the AR and/or TP will be accepted. Team Official’s are required to
bring hard copies to the Tournament Desk (TD).
- All following Round Robin, Elimination, Semi-Final, Consolation and/or Final games require
Head Coach's to register their team (“sign in”) at the TD 45 minutes prior to game time. 
- AP players must appear on the AR.
- Only players appearing on the AR can participate in the tournament.
- Any and all grievances/disputes/questions regarding tournament decisions at the TD shall only happen between the Team Official and Tournament Director or his 'Designate Director'.  At no time may this be the Head Coach!
  

Note(s): 
Tournament Executives hold the right to off-set game times prior to the start of any
game by 25 minutes ahead or behind schedule.  Team Officials are still required to
register (“sign-in”) their team 45 minutes before the start of their scheduled game times.


Game Sheets/Time Clock
 All game sheets will be Electronic Game Sheets (EGS) when playing at the MSC.
 All game sheets must be properly filled out.  Suspensions must be listed on each and
every game sheet filled out. The Tournament Suspension sheet must also be filled out
neatly by a Team Official.
 MTMHA will provide a timekeeper and score sheet person, however, in which case one
cannot be provided, the home team is responsible to provide coverage for the game.

Game, Period Lengths, Flooding
- There will be a 3 minute warm up allowed prior to each game. 
- Warm up will start when the 1st player of either team is on the ice. 

ATOM
- ALL Atom games will be three 10 minute periods (10-10-10) stop time, unless Mercy Rule
applies.

PEEWEE
- ALL Peewee games will be three 12 minute periods (12-12-12) stop time, unless Mercy Rule
applies.
 
BANTAM
- Bantam games will be three 12 minute periods (12-12-12), unless Mercy Rule applies, with NO
FLOODS.


-  Bantam Consolation and Final games will be three 12 minute periods (12-12-12), unless Mercy
Rule applies, FLOOD between periods 2 & 3.

- MERCY RULE: at any time during the game, if a team is leading by 5 goals, the
remaining time shall be straight running time. Should the lead be reduced to
less than 5 goals after the Mercy Rule has been called, the clock will REMAIN in straight
running time during all Round Robin games.
In an Elimination, Semi Final, Consolation or Championship Games, if the lead is reduced to less
than 5 goals, the clock will GO BACK to stop time; unless the lead has reached
5 goals again in which case the Mercy Rule re-applys.
- One 30 second Time Out allowed for all divisions in games outside of the Round Robin. 

Round Robin & Quarter Final Tie Breaking Format
          • Total Points 
          • Goal% (according to online standings)
          • Goals For
          • Goals Against
          • Head-To-Head
          • Coin Toss

Note(s):
No OT period/shootouts in Round Robin or QF.


Semi Final, Consolation & Final Games Tie Break Format

• Teams will play a 5 minute Sudden Death OT period.  The teams will ice 4 on 4. 
• Penalties from regulation time will carry over.

Note(s): 
The team on the PP will have an extra man advantage until PK team's penalty expires
and there is a whistle (stoppage in play).

- If there is still a tie, an NHL-style shootout will take place:
          • Each team will have 3 players shoot
          • Each team will alternate shooters with the home team choosing to shoot first
          • Team with most goals declared winner!

Note(s):
If tie still persists, teams go shooter-for-shooter in a Sudden Death shootout (must win
round) until winner is declared.


Terms & Conditions
- All teams participating shall be responsible for their own insurance coverage.
- All Referee(s), Tournament Director, Tournament Executive or Delegates decisions are final
(Only Team Official may protest). 
- The Tournament Director solely reserves the right to: 
          • Make decisions that are perceived to be in the best interests of the tournament.
          • To stop any game, at any time, if deemed necessary. 
- Any game suspensions received in the tournament will be served in the tournament. 
- OMHA rules apply and all referees decisions on the ice are final (i.e. any game suspensions
must be fully served through all subsequent games including next league games and league or
OMHA playoff games). 
- All fighting major penalties will result in expulsion from the tournament. 
- Body checking allowed in Bantam division only.
- All teams will shake hands before the start of each game (as per OMHA rules). 
- Each team must bring two (2) sets of jerseys of contrasting colours. Home team will be
designated to wear light coloured sweaters. Away team will be designated to wear dark
coloured sweaters.  The home team is listed first on the game schedule. 
- Teams will be responsible for any damage to the dressing rooms and other arena facilities.
Please report any damage to the Tournament Officials before using the dressing room.
-All players must use CSA approved equipment including mouth guards.
- Goaltenders must use
CSA approved helmets, neck guards, drop shields and mouthguards.
