Blasted by the Rockets
With the team facing some roster difficulties of late, the Peewees hoped to get on the upward side of the bell curve with their result.
Ryerson Rennie would get the call up from the farm team to fill in for Bennie Brant between the pipes who was down south with fellow player Joey Munday sipping mojitos by the pool while making friendly with the puck bunnies. The team was also down Cylis Williams who was put on the IR recently with a lower body injury. The players had #54 in their thoughts.
Strathroy was a team that Mooretown would have to put its tribulations aside and battle as best as they can.
Early into the game, the Rockets showed the Storm why they were the first in the league. The first period showcased their passing game putting on a clinic of sorts highlighted by a five goal barrage that the fans knew would be hard to overcome. Our boys made attempts to counter back but the Rockets kept up the relentless offensive pressure. The Storm managed to score a trio of markers in the game courtesy of Prudom, Molson, and Smith but Mooretown just couldn't overcome the challenge put before them via this strong Strathroy squad.
The team will enjoy a weekend off but will be back at practice before facing the St Thomas Stars next Saturday.
