Opening Weekend
The Mooretown Atom AE team opened their regular season with two games this past weekend.
Our regular season Home opener happened on Saturday when the St. Thomas Jr Stars visited the Mooretown Sports Complex. The game started well with a lot of back and forth action between the teams. St. Thomas would score first on the powerplay and would keep coming the rest of the game. The boys played well for their first game together but we unable to find the back of the net during the game.
Our first road game of the year came on Sunday when the team headed to Dorchester to take on the Dragons. The team had one goal for the game and that was to move their feet. Every player on the team skated well for three periods and we had a number of chance to score. They pressured the puck well and were rewarded with a number of takeaways. The scoreboard was not in our favor again but the team worked hard and showed lots of improvement.
