Third Period Team
Mooretown vs Lambton Shores
First period play was a little flat with Mooretown being out shot 15 to 5. Late in the period Mooretown started applying some pressure. However, the boys still they went down four goals.
The second period saw the tides start to turn with some nice passing in front of Lambton Shores’ crease. Every line had picked up the pace to double the shots on net to 10. A Flags’ slap shot from the point bounced off a Predator generating a breakaway that Colin shutdown with the help of a hard back checking defenseman.
It wasn’t until the third period when Mooretown went on the only power play of the game to see Coltan get a goal assisted by Jake. Mooretown’s defense started generating more pressure on Lambton Shores with shots on net and a couple of promising rushes. Logan made a calculated pass to Cameron which allowed Nick to pop one in. Continued pressure generated an unassisted third goal by Tyler. Mooretown outplayed the Predators in the third period with shots on goal favouring Mooretown 20 to 14. The final score ended up being 3-9 for Lambton Shores but last period of play belonged to The Flags. Mooretown proved they can be every bit as good as the competition.
