Congratulations PeeWee Rep Silver Stick Regional Champs!
Congratulations to our Peewee Rep team who took home the GOLD yesterday at their Regional Silver Stick in Watford!
The team went 4-1 as Christmas time became Silver Stick time. The PeeWee Jr. Flags started off with a 3-1 victory a tough Lambeth team. Their strong play continued with a 2-4 hard fought loss vs a talented South Huron team.
This set up a quarter final rematch vs. South Huron on Saturday. This time, Mooretown would not be denied. Mooretown emerged with the 2-1 victory. The PeeWee Rep team advanced to the semifinals and eliminated their foe.
Sunday will forever be legendary. 4 goals was the score of the day. The Flags flew past the top-ranked Ilderton Jets 4-2 to send the Ilderton back down Highway 402 and propel themselves into the finals. Mooretown took on a resilient Wallaceburg team for all the marbles. The Flags won 4-3 to take home the victory, the championship, and the Silver Stick banner.
Nolan and Gus were technicians of the tangled twine between the pipes; they were a rock between the pipes. Jace and Colin were responsible and creative centres. Kyle and Holden kept their heads up and passes crisp. Owen, Drew, Liam, and Braeden kept the puck moving and back checked aggressively as wingers. Jayden, Nolan, Ryder, and Austin defended the zone showing a willingness to move the puck and shut down many potent offensive talents.
The Flags were guided expertly by their head coach, Shannon LeBlanc. Marty Dewhirst, Spencer Dalgety, Bryan Beaudoin and Rodger Suddard kept encouraging the flags and focusing them on their steps to victory.
