Atom Rep - Atom Reps - Delhi Tournament Champs - 2 for 2!
Submitted By Atom / Peewee Rep on Sunday, December 1, 2019
The Mooretown Junior Flags, Atom Rep team entered the Delhi Tobacco Town Tournament. While a name like ‘Tobacco Town’ seems like it was a throwback to the 80s, the Atom Reps embraced their retro tourney and returned champions like Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band. They dominated their division and finished undefeated with a big win vs. Dorchester on Sunday afternoon’s championship game.

The Atom rep team began with a decisive victory vs. Ingersoll on Friday. They blasted 5 goals to 0. Big time shutout, big time effort. Just like Journey, they didn’t stop believing.

Saturday was an opportunity to enjoy a doubleheader of hockey. The morning began with the Flags chopping down Woodville with a 5-1 victory. The team then beat the host team, Delhi, 4-0. This set up a ‘Back to the Future’ Sunday semi-final.

In the semi-finals, the Atom Rep team took on Simcoe, the team they beat to win the Huntsville tourney. Mooretown was able to bring their determination, skill, and effort to the game. They sent Simcoe back home with no answers. The Flags won semi-final game 6-3. Just like the A-Team, the Atom Reps love it when a plan comes together.

Sunday was funday! A retro ‘tobacco tourney’ brought out the ‘Top Guns’. Time for memories to be made. The Atom Rep team took on Dorchester, the only team to beat them this year. The Atom Rep team sniffed victory and never let up, winning 3-2. They were champs and left no doubt.

The team rocked their opposition like an 80s rock station. Liam was ‘never gonna give you up’ a goal like Rick Astley. Ewan and Klarke played 2 way hockey putting teams ‘under pressure’ like David Bowie. Oden, Graeme, Daynen and Cole played solid D and made sure ‘another one bites the dust’ when forwards would enter the zone, just like Queen said. Cole, Drew, Ryan, Max, Chase and Tucker made plays to set each other up and light the lamp, Salt-n-Pepa would have been proud of the way they ‘push it’.

The Flags were guided by their head coach, Ian Snedden, and the staff of Adam Teschke, Aaron Ticknor, Shawn Lajoie, and Ryan Scott kept the boys focused on these ‘Wonder Years’.
