2025/26 Tryout, Registration & Open Borders Info
Mooretown Minor Hockey Association (MTMHA) OPEN BORDERS 2025 

Below is the information for the MTMHA tryout Process and Registration Information for the upcoming season. Please continue to watch the website for more information.

1. U11, U13 and U15 tryouts/skates will be held in the spring. U9, U18, U21 and all Four County teams will tryout/skate starting in the fall. Dates to be determined for fall dates.

2. The Spring tryout process will begin with skill skates and checking clinics from April 26-May 2 (3 skates per age group). 

Tryouts will begin with “B” (fist picked teams) on May 3-9th and “B2” (second picked teams) May 10-15th. Please pay close attention to the website for detailed dates and schedules.

3. To be eligible for tryouts a player shall pay their tryout fee. Players will not be able to step on the ice without fees paid. For the 2025-26 season there will be an $80 tryout fee for all goalies and players, which includes tryout and skill skate ice time. The registration link will be open starting April 1, 2025.

4. All players must try out for B level hockey, or above, to be eligible to try out for B2 level hockey.

5. All players will be guaranteed 2 tryouts prior to release.

6. Single player releases may not occur during the tryout process.

7. All players shall wear full gear including neck and mouth guard for all tryouts.

8. All players trying out for hit hockey will be required to participate in a checking clinic and or sign a waiver stating they have participated and/or knows the inherent risk of hit hockey.

9. All B and B2 teams shall consist of a minimum of 80% of players within previous MTMHA boundaries and a maximum of 20% of players previously outside MTMHA zone boundaries.

10. If a team offers a spot to a player, the player and family will be asked to fill and sign an “Offer of Commitment”. Once this commitment is signed, the player may not move to other centers/teams or attend any other center tryout(s). The player shall have 24 hours to accept or decline the offer.

11. If a player accepts an offer to play with an MTMHA “B” or “B2” team, the player and family shall formally register through the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) with MTMHA. Registration is available on the website and open as of May 1.

12. All goalie final MTMHA registration will be half price for U11 and up. Money will be
returned to the family after a full season of the positions is played.

*Extenuating circumstances will be reviewed by the hockey committee. Team numbers and team composition will be at the discretion of the hockey committee. The hockey committee shall have the final decision in all team selection matters. All hockey committee decisions shall be final
