Submitted By MTMHA on Sunday, January 22, 2017
The Novice and Peewee Lady Flags came both came home with some serioius hardware from the Cambridge Roadrunners 23rd Annual New Year’s Challenge Girls Hockey Tournament.

The Novice Lady Flags went a perfect 5-0 at the event with three 7-0 wins during round robin play followed by a 2-0 win in the semi-finals against Clarington.
It was an early morning 7:30 Championship game that saw the Novice Lady Flags score a 2-1 victory over the Burlington Purple Bulls to capture the Championship Trophy!  Charlie Potvin allowed just 1 goal through the entire tournament!!! Novice_Girls_Gold_Medal.jpg

The Peewee Lady Flags  advanced to the Finals after a pair of 2-1 wins and a 4-1 loss in Round robin play.  In the semi-finals it took a 4 player shootout to get past Ancaster 5-4.  Gracie Cornish was the only girl for either team to score in the shootout while Kameron Roache stopped the four shooters she faced.  The Finals were close until the third when the Waterloo Ravens pulled away from Mooretown with three goals in the third to win 4-1.  Well DONE Ladies!!!!!!
