I
would like to thank all the parents for making the trip up to London this
weekend. The team played awesome with some great team work, highlight goals and
huge saves.
The highlight of the tournament was the glove save Logan made. The bench and fans made a lot of noise. The team won their first three games in a row and we headed into the quarter finals playing the team we played first in the tournament. The SSE team came out strong and caught us off guard. They scored three goals to end the 1st period and we headed into the third still down three goals.
The Flags kept working hard and had lots of chances, but SSE kept taking away our time and space causing many turn overs only to score again-putting us down 4 nothing. Dylan managed to break free from a pass from Andrew to get us on board in the middle of the second period. The Flags managed to hold the SSE team for the rest of the period. Going into the 3rd the game started to get rough and the refs seemed to lose control of the game. All game they missed calls on the other team which frustrated our team and we started taking penalties. Having two players in the box for half of the 3rd period allowed the other team to capitalize with two more goals. This game was an eye opener for the entire team. Losing was very hard on everyone, but it makes us stronger and work harder as a team.
