Welcome Parents and Athletes to the U15 Rep tryout process set to
begin Sept. 7th!
Below is a quick personal introduction as well as a review of the
tryout process and upcoming season information.
First off, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Corey
Laframboise (Coach Bones), and I will be the head coach for the U15 Rep Team
this season.
My minor hockey experience ranges from house league to the travel
level as both a goalie and later a player for my Bantam years and beyond. I was fortunate to play with a successful Midget
AE group and win an OMHA Championship and later played Juvenile in Sarnia where
we went on to win an International Silver Stick Title in 1999. After minor hockey came beer league where I continue
to play (Go Pirates). I was also fortunate to play some Senior A hockey games
with the Petrolia Squires and my brother Craig “Framy” who unfortunately passed
away in December 2023. My brother was my
inspiration for the game of hockey, and I will continue my love and passion for
the sport in his honour.
My coaching career started when I was 19, helping with Bluewater
Sharks Summer hockey program and later progressed through the minor hockey ranks
coaching my son Caleb & teammates in various roles such as head coach,
assistant coach, and goalie coach as well as stints with the Sarnia AA Bantam’s
and Mooretown Flags Junior C.
I’m sharing this information as I know what it means to play travel hockey,
and I also know what it means to be released from a team. Unfortunately, as a
coach and staff member we realize that this is a stressful time for the players,
parents, and coaches and not every player can be selected for this team, so I wanted
to be transparent about our process to prepare the players and families
accordingly.
Throughout the evaluation process I will be utilizing 3rd
party (nonbiased) evaluators who will be analyzing not only skill & ability
of the players but also looking for many character traits that are critical in
building a successful roster. At time of
player releases, I will strive to get the tryout list updated as soon as reasonably
possible. The U15 Tier 1 Rep Tryout List
can be referenced on the U15 Rep Team page so please stay tuned to this page through the
tryout process for updates.
Tryout Process
Our tryout evaluation process will be as follows:
Tryout 1 (Sept. 7) – Skills, battle
drills, 3 on 3 hockey – no releases
Tryout 2 (Sept. 8) – Skills, small area
games, 3 on 3 hockey – no releases
Tryout 3 (Sept. 10) – Formal Intersquad Black/White
game. Due to numbers, some players will be required to sit out
this game. Following this game the release
process will begin.
Tryout 4 (Sept. 11) – Formal Intersquad Black/White
game with all remaining players.
Releases to follow.
Tryout 5 (Sept. 13) - Skills, battle drills, small area games – Releases to follow.
Tryout 6 (Sept. 14) – Exhibition game @
Wallaceburg. Final roster selection will take place following this game.
Season Outlook
For those interested in playing at the U15 Rep level this year, here
is a quick season preview and expectations.

in the neighbourhood of $600. We are
hopeful through team sponsorships, donations, or fundraising efforts we can
help reduce this cost for our families.

& games. Practices will include 30
minutes strength & conditioning & stretching, as well as game review &
practice plan preparation prior to on ice.
There will also be additional ice time requirements and expectations
throughout the season beyond our standard ice time provided by MTMHA.
Regular Season & Playoffs:
Shamrock “Season 1” – Sept. 30 - Dec. 23
Shamrock “Season 2” – Jan. 2 - Feb. 14

Again, I’m sharing this information to keep everyone informed on our

doesn’t work for any individual family and you wish to be released, please
reach out to discuss.
Good Luck to all athletes and families with this year’s tryout
process and we are looking forward to a very fun and rewarding season!
