Mooretown Vs Wallaceburg
Mooretown Orange made their way down highway 40 for a contest against Wallaceburg Lakers. Mooretown got off to a slow start as they really didn't get any rhythm going. It wasn't until the midway through the second period that we scored our first goal. Benoit won the face-off to Williamson. He used his booming shot on net to produce a rebound right to the stick of Lumley. Lumley didn't waste anytime burying the puck into the back of the net.
The second period ended with Mooretown up 1. Coach Bob gave the team a pep talk and the boys responded by playing their best period of the game. Rennie would shut the door on the Lakers as he made some key saves in this game to preserve the shutout. Trainer Tom seemed to get reacquainted with an old friend on the ice, word is he tried to exchange pleasantries with the man in stripes. The referee didn't care for Tom's kind words and gave our trainer an early night off. Our trainer made his way down the hall with his name being chanted in the stands.
The team has now secured at least a single point in 9 straight games and hope to carry this streak into the tournament this weekend.
