Storm Dulls the Blades
Continuing the league playoff battles, Mooretown would play host to Blenheim at home at the MSC.

Mooretown would hit the ice with a full roster while Blenheim's squad would arrive quite depleted. Nonetheless, the Storm hoped to take advantage of this shortfall. Despite the gap in bench size, both teams seemed to be quite evenly matched in the first period with play. The puck would spend equal time in both ends but not see the back of the net until the second.

The physical side of the game would rear its head as the game continued. Passingham would chase down a breakaway headed towards Shaw and lay him out to prevent the goal. The penalty box would get a workout as the whistles would come out sending both teams to the box for many an infraction. Oliveira would get hauled down on the way to the net resulting in the ref motioning to centre ice for the fan-loving penalty shot. With the fans on the edge of their seats, Devon would take the puck deke it a couple of times and fire it over the goalie's shoulder.......GOAL!

The Storm would try and take the momentum of the penalty shot into the third. With just thirty seconds into the frame, Williams and Plain would assist on a nifty Dumoulin goal to add to the lead. Villenueva with the help of Oliveira would add to that shortly thereafter to make it a 3-0 game. Blenheim was yet to be discounted as they would come back hard. Shaw would feel the brunt of the attack saving a goal from a blistering blueline Blade slapshot. The tenacious play by both sides would result in the sin bins being utilized once again. Blenheim would finally grind in a goal diminishing the lead and the whistles would continue to get a workout as the period wound down. The Blades would be able to turn the game into a nailbiter making it 3-2 from a goal with two minutes left. Mooretown would have to maintain their composure and not let the game slip from their reach. Shaw would do just that pulling off the highlight of the game snagging the puck via a Blade blast. The buzzer would be the Storm's friend as they would take the win and now get some rest before facing their next playoff opponent.
