Cougars Pounce On Storm
The Mooretown Storm returned from a long layoff and were handed a 9-1 loss by the Mt. Brydges Cougars.  Lucas Rodey scored the Storm's only goal of the game.

The Atom Rep Storm had not seen the ice as a team since their third game of Silverstick on Dec 29th.  The rink rust was never fully shaken off in a contest that saw the team on their heels for most of the game.  The teams played fairly even for the first few minutes but Mt. Brydges would score first at 4:39 putting one past starting netminder Colin Gladwish.  Hunter Seguin would get called for a trip with 51.4 and then Ries Lopes would follow him 24 seconds later giving the home squad a two man advantage which they would not squander putting a low one by Gladwish to make it 2-0.  Ben Brant would come in for the end of the period as Gladwish was having equipment trouble.  Brant would face one more shot to start the second before Gladwish was put back together and put back in.  Hunter S would head to the box again as the refs seems to only see the Black Jerseys for most of the game.  Mt. Brydges would again score with the man advantage as the puck was tipped on the way to the net.  Nick Bogaert would get called for a trip just 8 seconds after the powerplay goal but the refs would finally see an infraction by the Cougars to make it 4 on 4 for 1:33.  Mt. Brydges would make it 5-0 on a 2-1 and 6-0 in a nice shot from the high slot.  Mooretown would break the shut out before the end of the second as Hunter S would feed a streaking Lucas Rodey on the far post and Rodey would make no mistake burying it in the back of the net.  Unfortunately Hunter would crash into the boards awkwardly and suffer a laceration which would force him out of the rest of the game.  Ben Brant would come in in relief for the third.  Mooretown would get an early powerplay which was short lived as Parker McKegan would head to the box on the rough.  Mount Brydges would continue to carry the play through the third scoring 3 goals in the final 5 minutes of the game.  Even Turner would have one last chance on a breakaway late in the game but the Storm would fall 9-1.
