Storm Finish Out Regular Season At Home vs Lancers
The Storm were at home to finish off regular season play, as they had the daunting task of facing off against the unbeaten Lambeth Lancers.  The team worked hard to keep the game scoreless through the first half of the game, but would eventually succumb to the constant attack of the opposing team, as the Lancers scored 5 goals in the 2nd period to go along with 5 more in the 3rd, to win by a final score of 10-1.  Hunter Seguin netted the only goal for the Storm, and both goalies shared time between the pipes.

The Storm came out flying in the 1st period and had a good early chance as Nick Bogaert fired a shot from the wing that narrowly missed wide.  The Storm were delivered the first penalty of the game, for tripping, at the midway point of the frame.  The PK unit did a good job to kill off the penalty and the Lancers would be assessed a minor just as ours expired, to put the Storm on the PP.  The PP was unable to convert, however it was able to keep the momentum rolling, as Hunter Seguin had the best chance to score with a shot from the hash marks, but the Lancer goalie kicked out the pad just in time.  The team battled hard to keep the Lancer shots to a minimum and starting goalie, Colin Gladwish, made the saves when called upon to help keep the game scoreless going into the 2nd period.

The 2nd period started out much like the same as the 1st, with some good back and forth action, as the Storm were playing even with the unbeaten Lambeth squad.  Unfortunately, the Lancers would get that crucial first goal, as their crisp passing plays finally broke down the defense.  Less than a minute later, the Lancers would go up by a score of 2-0, on a slapshot along the ice.  After another Lancers' goal, the Storm would dig more of a hole for themselves as they were delivered a minor for tripping, however, C. Gladwish would make a nice desperation save to help keep the PP off the board.  The Lancers were then given a penalty of their own, which sent the Storm on a shortened PP, but was unable to convert.  Shortly after, the Storm were sent back to the box for body checking, followed by a tripping penalty, which put the team down on a lengthy 5-on-3 penalty kill.  Reis Lopes did well to cover the ice to help kill off the first penalty, however the Lancers would score before the second penalty expired, to make the score 4-0.  The Storm did not give up, as they answered right back with a goal of their own, as Ryan Steeves cleared the puck up to Jake Booth who made a beautiful pass to spring Seguin, who made no mistake on the breakaway.  Lambeth would deflate the sails of the Storm, as they scored one more late goal, as a man was left open in the high slot and roofed one to make the score 5-1 heading into the 3rd period.

Ben Brant would come in relief to start the 3rd period, and was forced to make a big save early using his head, literally.  The Storm held on until five minutes into the frame, when the Lancers got on the board again, as they took advantage of the Storm's inability to clear their own zone.  The 6-1 lead would seem insurmountable, and the Lancers would go on to score 4 more goals in the final period to make the final 10-1.

The Storm finish out the regular season, in a tough Central Division, with a record of 4-17-1.  Here's hoping for a fair first round draw to start off league playoffs.
