Dulling the Blades
The Storm would face off against Blenheim 2, a team just below them in the Tri-County rankings.

It would be a tough test with the boys coming off a late night escapade after a team outing to the RBC Centre and watching the Sarnia Sting win at home.

Mooretown would hit quickly esentially right off the faceoff driving in to the Blenheim end. Priddle would get the initial shot away and linemate Carter Foster would be there to bang home the rebound 15 seconds into the game. Blenheim would prove their worth throughout the first period getting into the Storm zone battling around the net. Our defence was having a hard time coralling their tenacity but with the help of Petrie, they would keep the Blades off the board until late in the frame. The opponent's perseverance would pay of with three minutes left as Blenheim would skate around the defence and score to tie the game. The Blades were taking Mooretown to task showing them why they had a similar rink record as our boys.

The Storm would carry on with a power play from the first period but the Blades would kill it off and start the pendulum swinging with some end to end hockey. Both teams were similar in calibre with their puck handling and blue line work. Mooretown would get a chance with a 4 on 0 but wouldn't have the finesse to put in the back of the net. The period would go scoreless and the game was up for grabs in the third.

Mooretown would get some good opportunities early on watching one puck slide through the crease of Blenheim and Ferguson having a chance on a rebound but... no dice. Blenheim were not to be discounted at any time as Petrie saw their capabilities first hand making the save of the game on a Blade who sliced his way to the net. The Storm would take the lead at 12:08 of the period with Priddle notching one with some help from linemate Hagan to make it a 2-1 game and hopefully swing the pendulum in Mooretown's favour. The fans were starting to watch the clock as Blenheim would battle in the Storm end scrambling at the puck in front of Petrie. Some skill and a bit of lady luck would keep it out as the minutes wound down to keep our home teams chances alive. The last few minutes were owned by Mooretown but Blenheim was making their presence always known throwing their weight around to gain some ground. The clock would be the Storm's friend with it winding down to the buzzer to secure the win for Mooretown.

The boys celebrated with cupcakes in honour of Tom Foster's 50th Birthday and go on Christmas holidays not playing their next game until the 29th. At the time of this writing, the players are now in their lazy-boys with their hand down their pants, sipping egg nog, and watching Bad Santa.
