Home to the Oilers
Coming off the Christmas break, the boys would have to shake off the crumbs if they had a chance to beat a normally challenging Petrolia squad.

The Storm would strike quickly essentially right off the opening faceoff with Priddle netting one with the helper going to Brush. Mooretown's work along the boards by Turner and Brush would translate into a blast from Ferguson that would find the back of the net with both goals coming in the first minute of play. Ferguson would add another marker mid-period resulting from a blast from his own blue line. The Storm strongly dominated the period and would take a 3-0 lead into the second.

Some controversial decisions by the refs (Petrolia's) would cause the fans some discomfort and also see Ticknor go to the box for two minutes. Mooretown would kill off the man advantage and then continue to get their work down in the offensive zone. Priddle would notch his second of the game with a shot that the goalie would initially stop but then see it dribble in near the post to make it 4-0. The refs would call Ferguson for a trip that would see him set foot in the box for the first time this season. He told reporters after the game that he still has hopes that the Lady Byng trophy will come his way.

The defense core in combo with Petrie's netminding would continue to keep Petrolia off the board. With three minutes left in the final period, Coene would add another goal resulting from persistent digging with his linemate Foster in the front of the net to make it 5-0. The Storm would take the game handily and prepare for another home game against West Lorne on Sunday.
