A Tie Just Not Enough As Mooretown Lets A 2 Goal Lead Slip In Final Minutes
The Mooretown Storm were in the driver’s seat with a choice to move onto the Semi Finals but the Dorchester Dragons spoiled the party with a 4-4 tie that eliminated both team from the Tournament.

The Mooretown Storm knew the mission win by 2 play on Sunday.  The Mission was almost accomplished as the Storm led by 2 but couldn’t hold off the Drochester Dragons at the end.  The Storm played their best game of the tournament as they had the Dragons hemmed in their end for good chunks of the game but neither team could score in the opening 10 minutes. Mooretown would trade powerplays as Keaton Frayne would go to the box 1:35 into the game but Dorchetster would make it 4 on 4 1 minute later.  Dominic Aliperti would take a Dragon with him to the box.  Mooretown would get one more powerplay in the first but couldn’t cash in on it. The Storm were finally rewarded 1:15 into the second as Dominic Aliperti fired one home assisted by Josh Sterling to make it 1-0.  Josh Raymond would head to the box midway through the second but the penalty kill would succeed once again.  Dorchester would knot it up with 30 seconds left in the second to make it 1-1 after 2.  The third was a wild affair to assay the least.  Dorchester would score 10 seconds into the third to take a 2-1 lead. But Mooretown would shake it off and score 26 seconds later to tie it back up as as Keaton Frayne wired one under the crossbar unassisted.  Mooretown would regain the lead 4 minutes later as Dominic Aliperti would score unassisted.  The Storm would grab the magic 2 goal lead with 8:46 left when Nolan Johnston scored on a beautiful rebound goal on a Dominic Aliperti shot.  The Storm thought they had iced the game as Frayne and Aliperti got behind the Dorchester defense with an empty net but the Ref called it no goal as he said the Storm was offside.  That seemed to change the game as Dorchester would pull the goalie and pull within 1 with 2:10 remaining.  Then with 41.2 Colin Gladwish would slip on his strap and fall as the Dragons fired it over him to tie the game at 4.  Unfortunately both teams received 2.5 points and were both eliminated from the tournament.  The team just let the opportunity slip away at the end but played fantastic.  The Players of the game were Colin Gladwish, Dominic Aliperti and Nolan Johnston.  Colton Williamson was awarded the Player of the Tournament for the Storm and received a new Composite stick for his efforts.
