Storm Capture Consolation Title With Convincing Win Over Dresden
The Mooretown Storm are the Peewee Tricounty Consolation Champions after Colin Gladwish earned his first shut-out in a 12-0 win in Dresden.

It had been a long time since the Storm had played in an actual game after falling 7-5 to the Wallaceburg Lakers on March 8th and it showed as the team got off to a bit of a shaky start. But the rust didn’t last long as Braeden Hunt would get things rolling on a bar down shot 4:37 into the first on a nice set up by MacKenzie Lumley to make it 1-0.  Keaton Frayne would score 1 minute and 12 seconds later with a high shot set up by Chloe Plain to make it 2-0.  Neither team would score through the rest of the first as Dresden garnered a few chances of their own.  Mooretown would take control of the game in the second as Dominic Aliperti scored unassisted 1:02 in the middle frame.  Colton Beauvais would head to the box 1 minute later for slashing but it was Mooretown who would score short-handed as Keaton Frayne scored his second of the game from Josh Sterling.  Aliperti who would be playing defense for the game with the suspension to Josh Raymond would score another short-handed goal with 10:52 remaining after Keaton Frayne was sent to the box for Cross Checking a minute earlier.  Dresden would go to the box but their penalty kill would keep the Storm at bay with 7:46 left in the second.  Mackenzie Lumley would score with 2:56 remaining after taking a feed from Nolan Johnston to make it 6-0.  Keaton Frayne would get the hat trick 50 seconds later after Coltan Beauvais won the draw in the offensive zone making it 7-0 after 2.  Dominic Aliperti would score his hat trick goal 3:37 into the third unassisted to make it 8-0.  Braeden Hunt would follow up with his second goal of the game just 22 seconds later with MacKenzie Lumley and Nolan Johnston executing a beautiful passing play up the ice to make it 9-0.  Mooretown would go on the power play seconds later and would strike quickly as Colton Beauvais fired the puck home from the high slot with assists to Chloe Plain and Dominic Aliperti to put the Storm in double digits.  Keaton Frayne would head to the box after getting tangled up with a Dresden player as both would be charged with roughing.  With the teams 5 on 5 Aliperti would get goal number 4 on the game and make it 11-0 unassisted.   Mooretown would get another power play chance but would not capitalize with 6:20 left in the game.  Nolan Johnston would cap off the scoring with 1:15 left as he pushed home the puck after Dominic hit the post giving Aliperti another assist.  Dominic would return to the score sheet with 10.1 as he was charged with roughing.  As the seconds ticked away the team celebrated not only the Consolation Title but Gladwish’s first shut-out as he made 20 saves in the game.  The team played well and moved the puck very well as they prepare for the final game of the season Hockey Day against the Mooretown Black Squad.
