As a part of the coaching staff,,, safety is our top priority.
By implementing an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) with our team, we will be prepared to react effectively in the event of a serious injury or incident. We have put together a rotation that will designate parents to these roles during our season. It is the parent’s responsibility to understand the assignment and be prepared. Please arrange for another parent to fill in if you are not available for the game you have been assigned and communicate this to the coaching staff.
The EAP requires three appointed positions.
- Charge Person
- Control Person
- Call Person
The CHARGE PERSON is the trainer- most qualified with first aid and emergency response
-is familiar with arena emergency equipment
-will take control of the situation until medical personnel arrive
-will assess the injury status of the player
The CALL PERSON is a parent- who will know the location of the emergency phone
-will have a list of emergency telephone numbers
-will have and be able to communicate directions to the arena
-will communicate with Control and Charge person
The CONTROL PERSON is a parent –who will ensure a clear route for the ambulance
-look for a doctor or nurse in the arena.
