U13B2 Final Tryout Ex. Game vs Petrolia
As the tryouts continue to evolve and the players are put through more skills, drills and battles, decisions are harder and harder each & every time.
Tryouts are an extremely challenging time for coaches, and parents/grandparents as we all know, BUT FOR THE PLAYERS leaving it all out on the ice - We see the effort, determination, relentlessness and sometimes pain during every skating and battle drill. We also see the talent, creativity, hockey IQ and potential during every scrimmage. We see the bonds and friendships, positivity and true character on and off the ice.
Last night was a long and hard practice with a lot of skating. These kids are very capable of doing hard things to help realize their full potential both on and off the ice. I liked the effort last night, I know some of you are battling pain, sickness, and injuries, as it has been truly exhausting week with school and additional sports taking place too. We are almost at the finish line, I am proud of each and every one of you!
The final tryout vs Petrolia on Saturday at 9:20am @West Middlesex Arena in Strathroy.
Please arrive 45 minutes prior to puck-drop for warm-ups. Tracksuits and proper shoes (no crocs).
Please remember every time you enter the rink your character, attitude and actions are being evaluate both on and off the ice and in the dressing room. There has been several outside evaluators during these tryouts providing their knowledge and input on players. We will continue to have outside evaluators present at the game.
Not all players will be dressing for the game. IF your player is not to dress for the game, I will be in direct contact within the very near future. Goalies will each receive one period to play.
Bring your best game and let's give these Oilers something to think about over the off-season.
