SeeSaw Battle Continues...
MOORETOWN,ON-- The Mooretown Vipers suffered defeat at the hands of the Petrolia Blue Team this morning by a score of 5-2. It was the Vipers' first game since Januray 4th when they played and won against the same Blue team.

Petrolia got on the board early with a quick 2 on 1  after the puck drop.  A few passes later and the puck was in the back of the net behind a dizzy Viper team. Midway through the period the visitors struck again, increasing their lead by two.  After a third goal was potted, the period was set to end 3-0 but a beautiful tic-tac-toe play from Marsh to Courteaux to Musson sent the Vipers to the dressing room feeling pretty good only down by 2.

Viper Goaltender Nolan Beaudoin, battling the flu, showed no signs of illness in the second.  He stopped the advance of the Blue team every time and with help from defender Jesse Knight managed a perfect period.  The Viper skaters also peppered lots of shots but weren't able to close the gap. The period ended 3-1.

The Vipers stumbled early surrendering two goals in the first 5 minutes of the third period. With the score now 5-1 for the opposition, forward Christian Musson picked up a lose puck to score a beautiful goal with 1 minute left to play.  It wasn't the best game for the red and blue but there were a lot of positives coming from this game.  The coaches felt the team passed the puck much better than in games past.  Considering the extended layoff from the last game the team played remarkably well.
