Rams Own Game 1 of Home and Home
MOORETOWN, ON --The Mooretown Rams defeated the Vipers 6-3 in the first game of a home and home series between the two rivals.  Game 2 is tomorrow.

The Vipers started strong, dictating the play and scoring two quick goals form Tyler Wilson including a sensational wrist shot that caught the top corner. The Rams were hemmed in their own zone for the first half of the period as the Vipers played strong positional hockey and responsible defensive coverage. The Rams, determined to get the better of the Vipers, turned up an intensity the Vipers were unable to match and scored 3 unanswered goals to end the period ahead of the home squad 3-2.

Mooretown Rams star Brayden Sylvester scored 2 goals in the 2nd and watched as his team continued to pick apart the Vipers' mistakes.  Only 2 goals were scored in the period but could have been more if Vipers' Goalie Nolan Beaudoin with the help of forward Derek Somes hadn't played as hard as they did.  Beaudoin stood on his head making several miraculous saves and Somes was extra hungry and hard on the puck. The 2nd finished and the score was 5-2 for the visitors.

The Rams increased the lead to 6-2 until Noah Leonard, with his stick down and standing in position A, swept a beauty pass form Chris Musson into the net.  That goal sparked the Vipers and although no more goals were scored, the rest of the period was a good hard fought battle by both teams. It was a very good game with a strong start and strong finish by the Vipers.  The Rams play was overpowering in this game , with shifty passes and great teamwork.  Good job to both teams!
