Atom Tri-County Black, 2017-2018 (Mooretown Minor Hockey)

Your Mooretown Atom Black team finished off their season strong this afternoon with a W over the Wallaceburg Lakers! As the final buzzer rang out, it was bittersweet for the boys and their fans.  On one hand, another season of hockey passes by, on the other, they get to go to Antonio's and celebrate their year with some close friends -  their teammates!  

Atom Black is happy to hand out the GJ to our awesome AP #2 Josh "Carpie" Carpenter! Carpie has played his heart out for us game in and game out this season and his teammates & coaches really appreciate him coming out!  This game, Carpie got the GJ for creating so much opportunities for his team as centreman - passing and playmaking all game! He also had the last shot of the game, with literally 2 seconds on the clock, almost winning the game for us in our 2-2 tie versus a tough South Kent 2! It was a tough break, but Carpie has found the back of the net more than a couple of times this ...

These two lads with the floating "ghost" GJ  between them played some good hockey over the weekend.  Fraze got the GJ for scoring 4 big ones last game at home, helping your hometown Mooretown Jr. Flags capture their first W in a few games.  He picked Jeff to get the GJ today in our game versus P-town for always being open even on D.  I think he's referring to those passes he made to the point where Jeff nearly scored. Congrats boys, we can hardly wait to see who Jeff picks next! Mooretown will be in action against West Lorne (at their barn) to make-up for the cancellation we faced this ...

Obie got the GJ today in our 2nd game of the Mark Woodley/Len Hoskins Memorial for outstanding work at centre and keeping his jets on all game.  Way to win those faceoffs and create those chances offensively.  Unfortunately, South Kent 1 was able to defeat us, but it was a valiant effort against one of the leagues powerhouse team.  We're hoping a few more go into the twine tomorrow as we faceoff against South Kent 2.  We know, Obie's anxious to get back on the ice versus them and net another one, just like he did in the first game! Keep up the hard work kid! 

Jax & Brownie have both come away with a GJ as of late.  Jax for good defensive play versus Mooretown White and Brownie for some great hustle up front with the forwards in today's tournament game verus our host South Kent.
