OMHA Round 2 - The Storm Fall In OT In Game 3
Game 3 - Mooretown 4 Dorchester 5 OT

The Storm were on the road on Super Bowl Sunday to again battle Dorchester on their old rink.  This game didn't have any of the the same flow as Game 2 as both teams had a steady stream of players heading to the penalty box.  In the end, after Dorchester's powerplay again got them back in the game, an Overtime wrap around, with the both teams having players in the box, would put the Dragons up in the series 2 games 1.

Mooretown opened the scoring forty seconds in as Greg Hay converted a feed from Nolan Farr.  As seems to be a pattern the Storm found themselves shorthanded on the next shift and Dorchester tied the score on the ensuing powerplay.  The Dragons would take the lead halfway through the 1st but the Storm converted on a powerplay chance of their own as Hayden MacDonald blasted in a slapshot from the point.  MacDonald would give the Storm the lead scoring on a long wrist shot into the top corner just twenty seconds before the buzzer.

Again the 2nd Period would be scoreless which was an amazing feat seeing as how the Storm were whistled for six minor penalties in the frame.  The PK, backed by goaltender Kaymond Turner, did an amazing job of preserving the lead heading into the 3rd.

With the Storm still shorthanded to start the 3rd Farr got loose and scored early to put the Storm up by two.  Dorchester answered back on the same powerplay to get to within one to set up for a furious last ten minutes.  The teams traded penalties but the fatigue started to show on the Storm and a late scramble allowed Dorchester to tie the game with just under five minutes to play.

With the Storm looking to hold on they again found themselves shorthanded as a Storm defender was assessed a 5 minute major and Match Penalty after getting tangled up behind the play with a Dorchester forward along the boards.  With the Storm player struggling to get loose from a bear hug hold the referee deemed a kicking motion was made putting the Storm down a man for the remainder of regulation time and into OT. After seven high tempo minutes of OT play and several close chances by both teams the Storm went on the powerplay as a slashing penalty was called against Dorchester.  The Storm didn't get much time to put the powerplay in action as it took one trip up the ice for another call to be made forcing the teams to decide the outcome 4 on 4.  With two minutes to play a Dorchester forward got wide around the Storm defence that was running on fumes and then made a quick wraparound to slide puck in just beyond the reach of Turner's goalie skate for the game winner.

In what was a disappointing outcome to a game the Storm had in their grasp the team knows they didn't do themselves any favours by playing shorthanded for more than half the game.

The Storm have a week to prepare for what is truly a must win game at home on Saturday with the hopes of forcing a Game 5 back in Dorchester on Sunday.
