U15 Rep Wins The Dunsmuir Memorial "A" Tournament in GTA
The Mooretown Junior Flags, U15 Rep team went to the Greater Toronto Area to compete in an "A" level tournament. They proudly represented their small towns on the shores of the St. Clair River, like a shiver of sharks stalking unsuspecting big city teams. The team returned, playing as one, undefeated and with the gold medals to prove their small-town hockey team is a natural phenomenon. They dominated their division and finished with an overtime 4-3 win over Sudbury's International Silverstick qualifying "A" team in Sunday's championship game.

On Friday, the U15 Rep team began with a decisive 4-1 victory vs. Oshawa. The win was followed by a 5-1 win over St. Catherines. The team was playing together and moving the puck. They surprised the big city teams like an ambush of tigers.

Saturday started with a 5-0 shutout over North Dundas to punch their ticket into the semifinal game. The hometown U15 team took on the host Upper York team for an entry into the championship. They left no doubt, skating faster than a coalition of cheetahs to overwhelm the hosts 9-0.

Sunday was an opportunity to bring home a banner. The U15 Rep team took on a Copper Cliffs team from Sudbury that had won their regional "A" silverstick tourney. A Mooretown goal tied up the back-and-forth game in the 3rd period to force overtime. The Junior Flags scored the winning goal just 12 seconds into overtime. The small-town hockey players got another sweet win and were happier than a gaggle of geese in a park along the river.

The team wrapped up their regular season by building the bonds of their group. The defence and goalie were in sync like a swarm of bees as Liam patrolled the net, and the defence of Chase, Cole, Dexter, and Graeme stung the opponents. Cole, Cooper, Klarke, and Ryan attacked each game like a quiver of cobras, making sure no one escaped their pursuit. Barrett, Oden, Drew, Ewan, and Gavin left a mark on each game like a rhumba of rattlesnakes with lightning reflexes.

The Flags were guided by their head coach, Jeff Grant, and the staff of Ryan Scott, Shawn Lajoie, and Scott Stewart. The advice and coaching were like a convocation of eagles, ensuring that a bird's eye view was combined with wisdom.
