Ilderton "Jets" into Mooretown
On the first day of December the Storm Atom AEs looked for a fresh start to the season as a depleted Ilderton Jets came to town.

With a few positional changes in the Storm lineup they would face an Ilderton team that only had a 9 skaters on this day.  Hunter "Spaghetti" Dalgety would get the start in net and perform well as the Jets continued to fire shots on the Storm goaltender.  The defensive core, consisting of "Dewy" Dewhirst, "Clarky" Clark, "Crusher" Crowley and "Newf" Lahey did a decent job of clearing the puck out of the zone.  The Storm saw themselves get a few scoring opportunities throughout the game.  "Rattlesnake" Nicholson would have the first scoring opportunity as he would pull away from the crowd and find himself on a breakaway.  He would fire a solid shot on net, however the Jets goalie would stand tall to make the save.  Later in the game, the line of Nicholson, Lumley and Klompstra would have another opportunity to put the team on the board.  Lumley would take a centering pass from Nicholson and, trying to pick the near corner, would slide the puck just a little wide of the net.  The best scoring opportunity of the game would come as "Newf" would be hauled down from behind by the Jets D-man while making an end to end rush.  This would put the speedy "Newf" in a familiar place.  He was about to take his second penalty shot of the season!  With flashbacks of firing the puck just a little high last time, Newf would take his place at center ice.  He would move to the left, then to the right, back to the left keeping the goalie guessing where he would go.  Just at the perfect time "Newf" would fire a hard shot along the ice towards to open corner of the net and the shot would be...just a little wide.  Once again, "Newf" would give the crowd some excitement with his penalty shot.

The Atom AEs are showing signs of improvement and will have the opportunity to work on their skills once again on Thursday night at practice.
