Mooretown Storm Face The Cougars in Mt Brydges
The Atom AE Storm made their first road trip in almost 5 weeks to face to the Mt Brydges Cougars.  The team played the best 3 periods of hockey they have played all season.

Travis Morningstar would get the start in net with Hunter Dalgety still basking in the southern sun.  The Storm would start the game showing their fans that they were ready to play by controlling the first few minutes of the 1st period.  The play would go back and forth with both teams getting good scoring opportunities.  Morningstar would remain solid between the pipes making save after save.  With 1:27 remaining in the 1st, Mt Brydges would get the first, and eventually, the only goal of the game.  Not giving up the Storm would work hard in the last minute of the first.  Noah O'Neil would center a nice pass to  Braiden Hunt who would get a shot on net.  Seconds after that Braiden would, once again, fire a shot at the Cougar's 'tender.

To start the second period, Aiden Bogaert would put the puck onto the Stick of Ryan Nicholson who would make a couple nice moves to get past the D-men, but fire the puck at the goalies chest.  The first shift of the second would see the line of Nicholson, Bogaert and Cadence Harrison create 3 or 4 more scoring chances and shots that just couldn't get by the Mt Brydges' goalie.

With the score 1-0 going into the 3rd period, the Storm players knew that this game was within reach.  The Storm came out battling hard and were on the receiving end of a large number of penalties.  The refs didn't miss much resulting in the Storm playing most of the 3rd period on the power play.  Although the Storm were able to keep the puck deep in the Cougars end and fire a number of shots on net, the door to tie game would remain shut buy the Cougar's goalie.

The Atom AE Storm proved to themselves, their fans and the coaching staff, that when they work their hardest that they can compete well.  Good work team and thanks for an exciting game!
