Novice Girls Trick Fillies and Treat fans In Exciting Match Up
November 1, 2015 Mooretown Ontario

The Novice Lady Flags only had to lace them up once this Halloween weekend to take on the Kent County Fillies at home.  With Starting Goaltender Charlie Potvin maxing and relaxing with her sister Eastyn at Disney World, back up goaltender Mekah Dewhirst got her first start of the year.

This was another even match up for the Lady Flags and was back and forth most of the game with all the Lady Flags putiing in a great effort.  Scoring was kicked off, after a scrum for the puck in the Fillies end , Addison Macleod broke away with the puck to fire it into the back of the Fillies net.  In the second their was lots of action and some notable plays came from some digging and grinding by line mates Kylie Slater and Kaeley Derrick. Derrick almost potted a pass out of the corner from Slater.   Midway through the third the Fillies tied it up, but Dewhirst was solid, making some key stops to hold the Flags in the game.  13 seconds later Mad Mac flew down the ice and roofed the puck with a wicked shot to the top of the mesh over the sprawling Fillies goaltender. A few minutes later determined to score, Avery Hands took the puck down the ice solo and scored a ringer to regain the lead.  The girls held off the fillies and won the game  3-2.  The next game has not been determined, but the schedule for the rest of the year will be communicated by late wednesday evening.
