And the Season Begins
The Storm hosted the Wallaceburg Lakers to kick off the 13/14 regular season.
Mooretown opened the scoring quickly adding to it later via a over the shoulder wire shot by Dumoulin in the fast paced first period. Much of the same action occurred in the middle frame with the Storm skating well and getting some quality chances on their opponent.
The Lakers would get on the board tucking one in past Brant but the Storm continued to pressure. The refs saw the opportunity to send some Storm players to the sin bin much to the chagrin of the fans.
Wallaceburg tied the game early in in the third with a power play goal but Mooretown took the lead again shortly thereafter with a nice slapshot by Brown from near the blueline. Williams would add another from near the side of the net as a result of some hard play from the Peewee's forward lines. The deal was sealed with another Storm marker and the boys skated off with the first W under their belts.
Mooretown will now face the Rock of St Mary's Thursday night here at home.
